PC based Card for Reed Switch Testing

Hardware

Measures Operate and Release AT at 0.1 AT resolution.

Measures Contact Resistance and variable Contact resistance up to 1500 mΩ.

Measures Dynamic Contact resistance at frequencies of up to 500 Hz.

DIP switch for hardware address setting.

Programmable open collector solenoid drivers.

Software

'Pass' and 'fail' criteria based on all measured parameters.

Configurable correction factors for OAT and RAT.

Programmable test sequence with option of triggering solenoids.

This card can be used for measuring operate and release AT and their variations and also contact resistance, variable contact resistance, operate time, release time etc. The card has been constructed with self-calibration techniques so that errors are minimized.

The card also includes solenoid drivers which are open collector outputs and can be used for any voltage levels up to 50 VDC at 400 mA max for triggering outputs based on test parameters set. The uncommitted amplifier inputs can measure any low level signal like thermocouple outputs etc. used in testing thermal reed sensors also. A 37-pin Sub D connector (receptacle) is used for all external connections. It has also got a 10 pin connector on the PCB which carries the second set of solenoid driver outputs for extra output signals.
