Magnet sensors in Hydraulic arm position sensing
Bulldozers, Earth Movers, Tractors, Fork Lifts and Garbage Compactor trucks use hydraulics to move cylinders and pistons to carry out various jobs. When the nature of the work is heavy, hydraulics are required, which is what powers the arms of such heavy equipment, for easy handling, with minor effort on the operators. Industrial grade Magnet Sensors are used on the outside of these hydraulic pistons and cylinders to sense end positions and intermediary positions. These signals are then used by the proportional pressure valves for controlling the oil pressure to the cylinders and pistons to ensure efficient power usage. As such vehicles work in a grimy industrial environment, the reed switches that are used in Magnet Sensors are hermetically sealed and encapsulated in epoxy to ensure dirt does not affect their functionality. As in the case of all automobiles, heavy equipments also run on the same battery and sensing circuit levels which Reed based products are very much suited to handle for many many operation.
