Reed sensors in Power switches for explosive areas

Explosion proof enclosures come in different grades and house components like switches, plug, controls, knobs, and other sensors, and need to be resistant to spark and shock, dust and temperature changes. These enclosures are mandatory in petroleum, gas, chemical, mining, and textile industries as safety of the operating personnel is paramount.

Reed Sensors, being hermetically sealed and unaffected by the atmosphere and surroundings, can be used with sliding magnets in power switches to work as on / off switches in such environments, for example, where arcing could cause an explosion. Reed Switch based reed relays are also safe devices to use in explosive areas for switching higher loads.
