Reed Sensors find an important place in marine applications where they are exposed to salt water and sub zero temperatures due to their inherent corrosion resistant contact characteristics. In the marine and ship industry, a variety of fluid levels need to be constantly monitored. Ships, boats and yachts also need weather instruments like pressure gauges, anemometers, and wind vanes for safe navigation. Reed Switches and Reed Sensors are used in these instruments as well. We have suggested recommended products for use in marine application, but this does not mean that the other products in the same product category will be unsuitable. We have also classified individual applications into types and these guidelines will help select the right magnetic sensitivity and type of magnet to use from our range of products.
