A Float Switch or Level Switch is an assembly consisting of a reed contact and an external magnet encapsulated in a foamed float. Float Switches change state when a particular level in a tank is reached. Reed Switch based float switches are more durable than mechanical ball-based float switches, but will need contact protection if the cables are longer than 10 meters.
