De-greasing of Pressed Reed Blades
After the pressing operation of Reed Blades, operators must clean off pressing dust, oil, and other particles to ensure cleanliness prior to the Annealing process. This will help keep the surface finish of the blades smooth as any residues burn and leave dark deposits. Reeds at this stage can be stored up to one month as they are coated with oil and grease from pressing.
These cleaned reed blades can then be safely stored in pre-degreased, airtight storage boxes for a period of up to two weeks before undergoing annealing. This storage method ensures the reed blades remain in optimal condition and free from contaminants during the interim period before further processing. Proper cleaning and storage protocols are essential to maintain the quality and effectiveness of the reed blades, ultimately impacting the performance and longevity of the final product.
The De-greasing operation of Reed blades plays a crucial role before annealing and sputtering by removing surface organics by burning them off during annealing. The de-greasing process not only cleans the blades before annealing but also prepares the surface, facilitating strong and uniform contact coating during sputtering. During this process, the reed blades are passed through a four-stage ultrasonic cleaning vapor process using a special solvent, followed by a meticulous cleaning with Alcohol and a heated drying procedure. The meticulous process leaves reed blades thoroughly cleaned and ready for the next steps in the manufacturing process.
