At Reed Relays and Electronics India Limited, choosing the right sensor for our customers involves a meticulous process tailored to meet specific needs. Whether it’s controlling circuits, sensing rotations on utility meters, detecting fluid levels, vane sensing, or determining the end position of a movement, our approach is designed to ensure customer satisfaction.

The processor sensor selection begins with a detailed discussion about the customer’s requirements, about the control circuits voltage and current levels, the type of mounting required, environmental conditions, and also number of operations required. This helps us determine the appropriate sensor and actuating magnet, be it SMD devices, PCBs with through holes, or screw mountable configurations.

Our expertise also extends into evaluating potential interference from magnetic materials, advising necessary changes to optimize sensor performance. We then conduct rigorous trials with various magnetic sensitivities and sizes of magnets to meet the exact distance requirements. This is sensors selection at it’s best.

This phase is critical, especially when manufacturing sensors with narrow actuation ranges, such as those between 2 and 4mm and also, at times, need an “off” range too.

Once we finalize the specifications, we send samples for customer approval. Each sensor is tested 100% for magnet distance and for almost 15 electromagnetic parameters—ensuring that every unit meets our high standards and the customer’s expectations.
