A normally closed or Form B type of electrical contact is one that normally allows electricity to flow until it is signaled to open. Form B type Reed Switches actuate or open when a magnet of opposite polarity, is brought near its vicinity and de-actuate or close when the magnet is taken away. Form B type Reed Switches are manufactured with an inbuilt biasing magnet.
