Prevent battery drain in unsold vehicles

In the automotive industry, ensuring the readiness of unsold vehicles for sale is crucial. One significant concern is the preservation of battery life in unsold vehicles during storage and transportation. To address this, normally-closed reed sensors play a pivotal role in effectively deactivating batteries until they reach their intended destination.

These normally closed reed sensors are fitted with an external magnet to change their state to “open” during transportation or storage which disengages the battery circuits to the unsold vehicles circuitry. This ensures that batteries remain in optimal condition, preserving charge and longevity. Activation or deactivation can be controlled by removing the magnet. Without removing the magnet, the cars doors cannot be opened for security reasons. Minimising battery drain also reduces the need for premature battery replacements, thereby lowering overall operational costs for manufacturers and dealers
