Magnet sensors in Hospital Electric Beds

Lets face it, no one likes to get into an accident or fall sick and get admitted in a hospital! But there are times when people do find themselves admitted and hospitals certainly want to ensure that their stay is as comfortable and pleasant as possible. In-room patients find themselves for most of the time, on the bed. These electric beds are adjusted by nurses and caregivers whenever the lower body or the legs may need to be raised or if the upper body needs to be raised to reduce water retention.
Hospital beds come with a a few adjustment buttons that either raise the upper portion of the mattress or fold the lower portion of the mattress to an inverted-v to help support the legs. The extent of the angle of these adjustments can either be done manually using a handle or automatically by using a few preset angle buttons on the bed. These are easily accessible and can be used by the patients themselves when they need to get up or get into a comfortable position for eating.
For such preset bed positions to work, the controller needs to get feedback from the movement of the bed to stop or start the motor or to reverse its direction. Magnet Sensors are used at such preset angles and a magnet is used in the moving part of the bed. With this combination, preset settings can easily be triggered to control the motor up to the point a certain sensing point is reached. Magnet Sensors are also hermetically sealed and are safe to use in electric beds that could be exposed to liquids.
